As a kid, summer was filled with hot summer days, hot summer nights, fire flies lighting up the sky, and stoking up the barbecue every evening.  I remember the rotisserie that roasted a whole chicken, and the sound of sauce dripping onto hot coals making that sizzle.  I also remember the beans, onions, garlic, tomato sauce and molasses, slow baked all day.  And the potato salad made by all us kids, with Mom supervising of course.  Well, those are my all time favorites on this week’s menu.  My recommendation is one of the BBQ’d dishes (chicken, tempeh or all veggies) and definitely the Bishop Baked Beans and Old Fashioned Roasted Potato Salad.  But there’s more, much more…

I absolutely love our Cantonese Sauce.  It’s so light and lovely with either chicken, tofu or all veggies.  The baby Bok Choy highlights the dish very nicely, and really lends to the presentation.  Our Market Fresh Fruit Bowls are as lovely as ever because of our new chef, Carly.  The layers of fresh fruit are very pleasing to the eye and palate.  And last but not least, my favorites are the Anytime Burrito and the Black Bean Burrito.  No matter how many I make in a week, they never fail as my fall-back to a healthy, nutritious and filling meal.

By the way, send me an email by August 7th 2011, mention “Summer Memories” and share one of your childhood summer memories, and I’ll send you a $5.00 Discount Voucher that you can use on a future order.

Bon Apetit to all!
